We perfect it.

Municipal treatment was never built to remove PFAS, lead from old service lines, or chlorine byproducts. Our whole-home and drinking-water systems are — installed by a licensed NJ contractor, one all-inclusive price.

Health alert · What's in your tap

Legal to deliver isn't the same as safe to drink.

Your utility can pass every federal test and still send contaminants to your tap at levels health scientists warn about. Many have no legal limit at all — and old pipes between the plant and your faucet add their own.

No safe levelof lead exposure for children, according to the CDC

Toxic metal
Pb

Lead

Leaches from older service lines and solder — common in pre-1986 NJ homes. You can’t see, smell or taste it.

Health risksLower IQ, learning and behavior problems in children. High blood pressure and kidney damage in adults. Risky during pregnancy.

Forever chemical
F

PFAS “forever chemicals”

Detected in utilities across NJ — many towns on our map have 3–4 PFAS above health guidelines. They don’t break down in your body.

Health risksLinked to kidney and testicular cancer, thyroid disease, high cholesterol, liver damage, low birth weight and weaker vaccine response in kids.
Reduced by: LW Elite
Cancer risk
Cl

Chlorine & its byproducts

Chlorine disinfects — then reacts in the pipes to form trihalomethanes (TTHMs) and haloacetic acids (HAAs), found above guidelines in nearly every NJ town we mapped.

Health risksYears of exposure linked to higher cancer risk, plus liver, kidney and nervous-system effects. Chlorine dries skin and hair and irritates eyes.
Removed by: every system
Carcinogen
Cr

Hexavalent chromium

The “Erin Brockovich” chemical — detected in NJ water supplies, often with no enforceable limit of its own.

Health risksCaused stomach and intestinal tumors in lab studies; EPA scientists rate it likely to cause cancer when swallowed.
Checked in every free water test
Infant danger
NO₃

Nitrates

Runoff from fertilizer and septic systems — found above guidelines in parts of South Jersey and on private wells.

Health risksCan seriously sicken infants under 6 months (“blue baby syndrome”). Long-term exposure linked to some cancers.

Microplastics & VOCs

Tiny plastic particles and industrial solvents that slip through municipal treatment.

Health risksVOCs like benzene and TCE are linked to cancer and liver and nervous-system damage. Microplastics now turn up in human blood and organs — research is ongoing.
Tested, then matched to a system

Health effects summarized from U.S. EPA, CDC and EWG. Risk depends on the level and length of exposure — a free water test shows what’s actually in yours.

The after-effects

What dirty water does over time.

Most contaminants don’t make you sick overnight. They build up — glass after glass, shower after shower, year after year.

Right away

Your body

  • Upset stomach and GI illness from bacteria after main breaks or boil-water events
  • Dry, itchy skin, irritated eyes and brittle hair from chlorine
  • Bad taste and odor — so your family drinks less water
Over the years

Your family’s health

  • Higher cancer risk from long-term exposure to PFAS, byproducts and chromium-6
  • Thyroid, hormone and cholesterol problems linked to PFAS
  • Developmental harm to children and pregnancies from lead
  • Extra strain on kidneys and liver
Every month

Your home

  • Scale that shortens water heater and appliance life
  • Clogged fixtures, spotty dishes and stained sinks
  • Money spent on bottled water that often isn’t tested any better
Do the math

How much unfiltered water has your family used?

116,800glasses of tap water
14,600showers & baths
1.2Mgallons through your pipes
Estimates: 8 glasses and 1 shower per person per day; about 82 gallons per person per day at home (U.S. EPA).

Every stage has one job. By the time water reaches your tap, the stuff you don't want has been caught along the way.

or choose your town above to see what's been detected in your water.

Source: EWG Tap Water Database (utility data provided by NJ DEP; compliance status from U.S. EPA ECHO, Apr–Jun 2024). EWG health guidelines are stricter than federal legal limits — a utility can meet every legal standard and still exceed them. Each town shows the largest utility EWG lists for that ZIP code; your home may be served by a different system, and private wells aren't included. The only way to know what's in your tap is to test it.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is installation really included in the price?

Yes. Every price on our site is installed and all-inclusive — equipment, labor, and materials. No surprise add-ons.

Do I need whole-home or under-sink filtration?

Under-sink systems give you clean drinking and cooking water at one tap. Whole-home systems treat every tap, shower and appliance. Your free water test tells us which one your water actually needs.

Which system removes PFAS “forever chemicals”?

Our LW Elite 5-Stage whole-home system is certified to reduce PFAS and PFOA to below EPA action levels.

I'm on well water. Can you help?

Yes. Well water often needs different treatment than city water — we test first, then recommend a system (the LW Elite is well-water ready).

How often do filters need to be changed?

Most under-sink filters last about 6–12 months, and whole-home stages 6–12 months up to 5 years depending on the system. Our maintenance plans handle it for you.

What areas do you serve?

We're based in Monroe Township and serve Central & South Jersey, including Middlesex, Monmouth, and Ocean Counties.

Why Living Water

Not a sales pitch. A plumber's answer.

Most water-treatment companies send a commissioned rep to your kitchen table and won't show a price until the end. We do it the other way around.

Step 1 · Your tap water

Treated. Not clean.

Chlorine, lead from old service lines, PFAS "forever chemicals" and sediment all ride along into your glass.

Step 2 · Sediment filter

Grit stops here.

Sand, rust and scale get trapped before they ever reach your pipes, fixtures or water heater.

Step 3 · Carbon block

Chemicals out.

Activated carbon pulls out chlorine, PFAS and that pool-water taste and smell.

Step 4 · UV polish

Safe at every tap.

Ultraviolet light neutralizes bacteria and viruses — no chemicals added.

Living Water

Crystal clear.
